Musical Theatre Workshop
 Ovation™
(for students entering 9th grade and up) is excited
to announce a showcase program with various group and solo
numbers for our Summer 2008 program.
 Learn
basic acting methods and performance technique through the
medium of musical theater.
Keep
journal through process to turn in every two weeks for evaluation
and comments.
Prepare audition material (songs & monologues).
Learn dance basics necessary for ensemble work in musical
theater.
Learn fundamentals of stage makeup (basic, old age, scars
& bruising, other special effects).
Prepare resumes & headshots.
Attend master classes with area professionals.
Program culminates in final showcase performance featuring
each student performing songs and monologues, as well as 4-6
fully choreographed group numbers.
Additional Information: Class meets 3 times per week
for 5 weeks. Students are expected to do required prep-work
outside of class time. High level of personal responsibility
and preparedness is required.
Director: Jessica Magers-Rankin
Class tuition is $375. The Town Hall Kids Student
Information Form must be completed for each student and
brought to the first day of class.
Ovation™ Musical Theatre Workshop runs the weeks
of 7/14, 7/21, 7/28, 8/4 from 7 to 9:30PM on Mondays, Wednesdays,
and Fridays.
Dress Rehearsals: 8/12, 8/13, 8/14 during class
Performances: Friday, 8/15 at 8PM and Saturday, 8/16
at 2PM
Town Hall Kids Ovation™ program offers presentation-style
musical theatre training to young actors entering 9th grade
and up. The final performance has sets, lights, costumes,
choreography, and music. The workshop teaches fundamentals
of acting, singing and dancing, while providing young actors
opportunities for growth, team-building...and lots of fun!
Included in your tuition is a show t-shirt. Tickets to the
show and a DVD of the performance may be purchased separately.
